Chocolate Pots de Creme

February 18, 2009

While we’re on the subject of delectables, let me just quickly blog about the pots de creme that Victoria just whipped up. The whole process took about 8 minutes, and if the warm chocolate is anything to go by, these are going to be amazingly good desserts.

Bring 1/4 cup of butter and 3/4 cup whole milk almost to a boil over low heat. Then toss the liquid over a bag of milk chocolate chips (we used Guittard) that are waiting in your blender. Blend until smooth and chill for 3 hours.

I’m fairly sure that our pots de creme will not make the full chilling cycle, at least not the first two.

We didn’t add the whipped cream, but honestly, I think they might have been too rich. Victoria will almost surely disagree, as I think she is of the “there’s no such thing as too rich” school. Not that I would turn it down if it came my way again.
